This Sunday the sermon in entitled "Chosen to Gather Round the Stone," and is based on 1 Peter 2: 2-9.  In this passage the writer describes Christ as a "living stone" and Christians are those people chosen to be part of a new community gathered around this strong center.  I'll use some slides of some famous and local "stones" to help us appreciate the image.  We'll see what that all this means for us as individuals and as a community.

 Music will consist of the hymns "Gather Us In," "Christ is Made the Sure Foundation," and "Take My Life."

At 11, I'll be leading an Inquirers' Class for those interested in learning more about our church and its future. Also at 11, Kerry Miller will be leading a workshop on worm composting, following our emphasis on Creation Care last Sunday.

 Our parish nurse, Jan Faddens, will be at the service and available for taking blood pressures and answering any questions about your health.
